Birthday Party Ideas

craft supplies for creating birthday t-shirts

supplies

Here’s a great idea for your child’s birthday party.  Pick a movie, say the Lorax, buy light colored t-shirts at Walmart or somewhere similar (we got yellow ones for $3.49 ea).  Get permanent markers for  fabric (in the crafts section at Walmart–they have great colors each package is ~$8 and you get 4-5 markers), glitter glue, reads, and plastic gems are good too and cheap.

For my daughter’s birthday everyone wore the shirts to the movies so I could find all the girls in a crowd.  Then afterwards we decorated them (a good 1 hour activity).  And we made bracelets from beads and elastic cord too.  The girls loved it and it is much better than sending home a load of trinkets and sugary foods as a goodie bag.

If you have an artist in the family you can draw some of the characters in the film (I drew the Lorax–I printed off a page from a website and used it as a guide and drew it freehand).

Here are some of the results.
